Alastair and i wrote this back in sept 2023. i had just gotten back from a little jot up to NYC and was feeling the energy and inspiration from the city — reminiscing on the feeling of falling in love, hyper-fixating, and irrationally wrapping your whole world around someone new. Graham (Alastair) mentioned the moments of getting coffee on a date, but you end up just talking til your coffee gets cold — that visual carried the rest of the song. we wrote it all in a day and then didn’t touch the song again until early 2025. it started off leaning a ballad but I wanted to make something that felt like falling in love; that embodied the energy and excitement of craving connection and fantasizing about a future with essentially a stranger. Graham reworked the production, got our good friend, Alex, to track new guitar, and the rest is history. I hope you love it and maybe even fall in love to it?!
thanku to everyone i consulted, brainstormed, day-dreamed about this project with — this is my first experience of taking art direction almost solely on my own, silly scenes from my brain to real life, but i couldn’t have done it without the brilliance and talent of my close friends.
